Description
The work was conceived after a journey to Sicily and the Cretto of Burri, whose emotional impact inspired a tribute to the artist. The trapezoidal form, made with eggshells, recalls the aerial view of the Cretto, while the cracked surface evokes the land’s fragility and dryness. The deep red edges were chosen in remembrance of the earthquake’s victims. The piece transforms memory into material, balancing form, texture and symbolism through restrained, deliberate gesture.
